2009 - 2010 curriculum of the Degree Programme in Business Information Technology, BBA

The international Degree Programme in Business Information Technology (BIT) gives students theoretical and practical skills required for working in the field of information and communication technology. The objective of the programme is to educate specialists in information security, software analysis and design, and programming. The programme is instructed in English in which way the graduates have excellent language and communication skills. Lectures, exercises, team and project work, and practical training along with the modern instruction methods and tools are used. This degree programme encourages personal growth, critical thinking, research skills, and cooperation with team mates.

Kemi-Tornio UAS cooperates with local companies and other organizations aiming at giving real-life work experience to the students. This cooperation results in common projects with companies while doing course exercises and projects, practical training and Bachelor’s theses.

The learning environment includes excellent library, modern computers with appropriate software and several laboratories where students can do research and development projects and to become familiar with hardware and software products. The studying atmosphere is international due to many students from different parts of the world. Six best students of this Programme may have a possibility to study one year in USA (Boston and Dartmouth) and half-a-year in Germany (Frankfurt).

Usually our graduates start their professional careers as software designers, system analysts, application developers, web designers, project managers, team leaders or entrepreneurs.
